Final week of performances in Nicosia,
at the "Nikos Charalambous" New Stage, THOC.
In Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece, "Little Eyolf," obsessive romantic passion and monomaniacal love are the cause and catalyst for all that little Eyolf experiences from his infancy. The recklessness and negligence of parents, which lead, intentionally or unintentionally, to the abuse of their own children, sometimes even to their death, is a familiar theme of all times, which, when it comes to the surface, inevitably shocks the healthy part of every society. Although the, partly autobiographical, work of the great Norwegian playwright is rarely performed, it remains shockingly relevant in every country and era for all that it addresses. Guilt, repressed desires, doubts, and hidden secrets ignite conflicts among the characters of the play.
